Phaleria capitata is a flowering plant species in the Thymelaeaceae family. It is a shrub or small tree reaching up to 10 metres in height, with reddish brown twigs. The plant produces inflorescences with typically five flowers and round fruits up to 1.5 cm long. It is found in forest habitats from sea level to 1,200 metres in altitude.

Description

Phaleria capitata is native to several regions in Southeast Asia and the Pacific, including Sri Lanka, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi, Maluku, the Philippines, New Guinea, the Caroline Islands, and Tonga. It was first described by Jack in 1822. The species is part of the Thymelaeaceae family and is known for its shrub or small tree growth form. The plant's natural range includes tropical forests at varying altitudes, and it is characterized by its reddish brown twigs and small, round fruits.
