Petermannia cirrosa is the only species in the genus Petermannia, which belongs to the family Petermanniaceae. It is native to New South Wales and Queensland in Australia. This plant is a prickly, wiry-stemmed vine that can reach up to 6 metres in height. It has lancelote, ovate, or elliptic leaves with an acute apex. The summer-blooming flowers feature reflexed reddish green or white tepals, followed by rounded red berries.

Description

Petermannia cirrosa (F.Muell.) is a member of the family Petermanniaceae and is the sole species in the genus Petermannia. It is found exclusively in the Australian states of New South Wales and Queensland. The plant is characterized by its prickly, wiry stems and can grow as a vine up to 6 metres tall. Its leaves are lancelote, ovate, or elliptic with a pointed tip. During summer, it produces flowers with reflexed tepals that are either reddish green or white, which later develop into red, rounded berries.
