It is a low-lying shrub characterized by hairy young branchlets, narrow oblong to narrow elliptic leaves, and yellow flowers arranged in groups of up to twelve on a rachis that continues to grow after flowering.
Description
Persoonia recedens, described in 1919 by Gand., is a member of the Proteaceae family and is found only in New South Wales. This species typically grows as a spreading or low-lying shrub. Its young branchlets are hairy, and the leaves are narrow oblong to narrow elliptic in shape. The flowers are yellow and appear in clusters of up to twelve on a rachis that can extend up to 75 mm (3.0 in) in length. The rachis continues to elongate after the flowering period.
