Persoonia comata is a flowering plant in the Proteaceae family, native to the south-west of Western Australia. It is an upright shrub, occasionally spreading or low-growing, with smooth bark and leaves that are spatula- to lance-shaped, narrowing at the base. The plant produces clusters of yellow flowers, typically ten to fifty per rachis, which can reach up to 250 mm in length.

Description

Persoonia comata, described by Meisn. in 1855, is part of the Proteaceae family and is found exclusively in the south-western region of Western Australia. The plant is characterized by its erect growth form, with some individuals spreading or lying low. It has smooth bark and leaves that are spatula- to lance-shaped, with the narrower end at the base. The flowers are yellow and arranged in clusters of ten to fifty along a rachis that can extend up to 250 mm in length.
