Protea grandiceps, known as peach protea in English and rooisuikerbos, suikerbos, or red sugarbush in local languages, is a flowering shrub native to the southwestern regions of South Africa. It is a member of the Proteaceae family and was first described in 1808 by Tratt. The plant is found in the Cape Provinces and has a global distribution. In 2006, it was classified as near threatened by the South African National Biodiversity Institute.

Description

Protea grandiceps is a species of flowering shrub in the Proteaceae family. It is part of the Protea genus and is indigenous to the Cape Provinces of South Africa. The plant is commonly referred to as peach protea or red sugarbush. The species was first published in 1808 by Tratt. Due to conservation concerns, it was listed as near threatened in 2006 by the South African National Biodiversity Institute.
