Parodia carambeiensis

Parodia carambeiensis is a member of the Cactaceae family, commonly known as the cactus family. It is part of the genus Parodia, which includes several spiny, globular or columnar cacti. The species is distributed in the southern part of Brazil and has a global presence. It was formally published in 1998 under the authorship of Hofacker, who reclassified it from earlier work by Buining & Brederoo. This cactus is adapted to arid or semi-arid environments typical of its native range.
