The fruit is green and splits to reveal a pinkish receptacle containing 3 to 7 black or red drupes.

Palmeria racemosa, described in 1868, is a member of the Monimiaceae family. It is a climbing woody vine found only in eastern Australia. The leaves are elliptic to oblong in shape. The plant exhibits separate male and female flowers. Male flowers are characterized by thirty to forty stamens, while female flowers contain approximately ten carpels. The fruit is green and opens to form a pinkish structure that holds 3 to 7 drupes, which are either black or red in color.
