Botrychium pallidum, known as the pale botrychium, is a species of fern in the Ophioglossaceae family. It was first described by Warren H. Wagner in 1990 and is native to regions in Canada and the United States, including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Colorado, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, and Wisconsin. The species was originally identified from a site near Baie-Sainte-Catherine in Quebec and had previously only been recorded on a herbarium sheet at the Universite de Laval.

Description

Botrychium pallidum is a member of the Ophioglossaceae family and is distributed across parts of Canada and the northern United States. The species was formally described in 1990 by Warren H. Wagner, based on a collection from Quebec. Before this, the only known record of the species was a herbarium specimen at the Universite de Laval. Its range includes provinces such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan, as well as states like Colorado, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, and Wisconsin. This fern is part of the Botrychium genus, which includes various moonworts and grape ferns.
