Paeonia rockii, known as Rock's peony, is a tree peony species native to Gansu and neighboring regions in China. It belongs to the Paeoniaceae family and was named after Joseph Rock. In Chinese, it is referred to as 紫斑牡丹.

Paeonia rockii is a woody tree peony species that occurs in the mountainous regions of Gansu and adjacent provinces in China. It is part of the Paeoniaceae family and was formally described in 1998. The species is one of several that share the common name 'tree peony.' Its scientific name was published by T.Hong and J.J.Li ex D.Y.Hong. The plant is distributed in China's North-Central, South-Central, and Southeast regions, as well as in Inner Mongolia.
