Paeonia mairei is a species of peony in the family Paeoniaceae, native to the mountains of central China. It is known in Chinese as 美丽芍药, meaning 'beautiful peony'. The plant typically grows to a height of 45 to 100 cm and produces rose-pink flowers approximately 10 cm in diameter, with one flower per stem. It blooms in early spring.

Description

Paeonia mairei, described by H.Lév. in 1915, is a member of the Paeoniaceae family and is found in North-Central and South-Central China. This herbaceous perennial is characterized by its single, large rose-pink flowers that appear in early spring. Each flower is borne on an individual stem, and the plant reaches a height of 45 to 100 cm. It is adapted to mountainous habitats in its native range.
