Paeonia ludlowii is a deciduous shrub in the Paeoniaceae family, native to southeast Tibet. It is part of the tree peony section Moutan and is known locally as 'lumaidao', meaning 'God's flower'. The plant is also referred to in Chinese as 大花黄牡丹, or 'big yellow-flowered peony', and in English as Tibetan tree peony or Ludlow's tree peony. It features pure yellow, bowl-shaped flowers and large, light green, twice-compounded leaves.
