Pachira brevipes (A.Robyns) W.S.Alverson is a species in the Malvaceae family, native to the Amazon region of Colombia and Brazil, with records in Peru. It is found in Amazonas, Caquetá, and Vaupés departments in Colombia, as well as in the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete, Parque Nacional Natural Yaigojé Apaporis, and Parque Nacional Natural Río Puré. The species was first described in 1993.
Description
Pachira brevipes is a member of the Malvaceae family and is distributed across the Amazon basin, particularly in the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, and Vaupés in Colombia, as well as in Brazil and Peru. It is documented in several protected areas, including the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete, Parque Nacional Natural Yaigojé Apaporis, and Parque Nacional Natural Río Puré. The species was formally described in 1993 by W.S. Alverson, based on earlier work by A. Robyns.
