Description

Trillium viridescens, also referred to as Ozark trillium or tapertip wakerobin, is a member of the Melanthiaceae family. It is distributed across parts of the central United States, including Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and Louisiana. The plant is commonly found in rich deciduous forests and mountainous areas where the soil is clayey and calcareous. First described in 1835, this species is part of the Trillium genus, known for its distinctive three-part structure.
