Ourisia simpsonii is a flowering plant in the Plantaginaceae family, native to the South Island of New Zealand. It was recognized as a distinct species by Mary Kalin Arroyo in 1984. This perennial herb grows in high-elevation habitats and is characterized by small, hairy leaves arranged in a basal rosette and zygomorphic flowers with a white corolla and yellow corolla tube. The plant is not considered threatened.

Description

Ourisia simpsonii is a small-leaved, perennial herb endemic to the South Island of New Zealand. It is distinguished by its hairy, crenate, ovate leaves and zygomorphic flowers, which occur singly or in pairs at each node. The corolla is white with a yellow, hairless interior and a purple exterior. The plant is covered in a mix of glandular and non-glandular hairs. It is found in high-elevation habitats and is not classified as threatened.
