Ourisia macrocarpa, known as snowy mountain foxglove, is a perennial herb in the Plantaginaceae family. It is endemic to the South Island of New Zealand and was described by Joseph Dalton Hooker in 1853. The plant is characterized by its large, broadly ovate leaves and showy flowers arranged in whorls at each node. The flowers have an irregular calyx, a white, irregular corolla with a yellow tube lined with three yellow hairy lines, and fruits up to 1 cm long. The plant is mostly hairless or has non-glandular hairs and is listed as Not Threatened.

Description

Ourisia macrocarpa is a rhizomatous, tufted herb that forms part of New Zealand's native flora. It is found in the South Island and is distinguished by its large leaves and clustered flowers. The corolla is white with a yellow interior, and the fruits are relatively large for the species. This plant is part of the genus Ourisia, which is native to New Zealand. It is not considered to be at risk of extinction.
