Otoba novogranatensis is a tree species in the Myristicaceae family, native to the Neotropics. It ranges from southern Nicaragua to Ecuador and is found in lowland to submontane forests at elevations up to 1300 m. The tree can grow up to 30 m tall with a bole diameter of 45 cm and may have low buttresses.

Description

Otoba novogranatensis, described by Moldenke in 1932, is a member of the Myristicaceae family. It is distributed across several regions in South and Central America, including Amazonas, Antioquia, Bolívar, Caquetá, Chocó, Huila, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Risaralda, and Valle in Colombia, as well as in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panamá, and Venezuela. This species is typically found in lowland to submontane forest ecosystems at altitudes of up to 1300 m above sea level. The tree can reach a height of 30 m with a trunk diameter of 45 cm and may exhibit low buttresses at the base.
