Oryctanthus florulentus is a species in the Loranthaceae family, native to the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete in Colombia. It was first described by the botanist Urb. in 1896.

Description

Oryctanthus florulentus belongs to the Loranthaceae family, commonly known as the sandalwood family. This species is part of the genus Oryctanthus and is specifically found in the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete (PNNSCh), a protected area in Colombia. The species was first scientifically described in 1896 by the botanist Urb. The genus Oryctanthus is characterized by its parasitic or hemiparasitic growth habit, typical of many Loranthaceae members. The specific epithet 'florulentus' suggests a feature related to its flowering characteristics. The species remains a documented part of the biodiversity of the Serranía de Chiribiquete region.
