Ornithoglossum undulatum, known as the Karoo Slangkop, is a flowering plant in the family Colchicaceae. It is native to Southern Namibia and South Africa, including the Cape Provinces and as far east as Somerset East in the Eastern Cape Province. The plant is toxic, and its leaves can be lethal to livestock if ingested.

Description

Ornithoglossum undulatum is a member of the genus Ornithoglossum and was first described by Sweet in 1825. It is found in the Cape Provinces and Namibia, where it grows in arid and semi-arid regions. The plant is known for its toxicity, with the leaves posing a significant risk to livestock. This species is adapted to the harsh conditions of its native range and is an important part of the local flora.
