Description
Celtis tournefortii is a member of the genus Celtis and is found in regions including Sicily, the Balkans, Crimea, West Asia, and the Caucasus. It was first described in 1797 by Lam. The tree thrives in dry forest environments and is part of the Cannabaceae family, which also includes hemp and hops. Its distribution spans areas such as Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon-Syria, Turkey, and parts of the East Aegean Islands and Yugoslavia.
