Oreomunnea mexicana is a species in the Juglandaceae family, found in tropical rainforests across Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. It grows at altitudes between 1 and 1.7 km and has the common names guayabo amarillo and remiendo. The species has a chromosome count of 2n = 32.

Description

Oreomunnea mexicana (J.-F.Leroy) is a member of the Juglandaceae family and is native to tropical rainforests in several Central American and Mexican regions. It is documented in Mexico Gulf, Mexico Southeast, Mexico Southwest, as well as in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. This species thrives at elevations ranging from 1 to 1.7 km. Its common names are guayabo amarillo and remiendo. The plant has a diploid chromosome number of 2n = 32. The species was first described in 1951.
