Orectanthe sceptrum is a species in the genus Orectanthe, belonging to the family Xyridaceae. It was first described in 1958 by Maguire, based on earlier work by Oliv. The species is native to northern Brazil, Guyana, and Venezuela.

Description

Orectanthe sceptrum is a member of the Xyridaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as yellow-eyed grasses. It is distributed across northern Brazil, Guyana, and Venezuela. The species was formally published in 1958 by Maguire, building upon the initial taxonomic work by Oliv. This species contributes to the biodiversity of the Neotropical region and is part of the genus Orectanthe, which includes other closely related species within the same family.
