Orchis spitzelii
Orchis spitzelii Saut. ex W.D.J.Koch

Orchis spitzelii is a species of orchid in the Orchidaceae family, native to regions spanning from Sweden (Gotland) and eastern Spain to the Caucasus, western Asia, and northwestern Africa.
Description
This orchid has ovoid tubers and a 20-40 cm tall stem, which is erect or slightly flexuous. It features a basal rosette or cluster of 2-4 leaves and sheaths above. The leaves are oblong-ovate to ovate- or oblong-lanceolate. The spike is ovoid or shortly cylindrical and dense. Bracts are linear-lanceolate or lanceolate, 5-7-veined, and slightly longer than or as long as the ovary. The flowers are purple, with outer perianth-segments 7-10 mm, oblong-ovate, and obtuse. The labellum is 8 x 10 mm, broadly ovate, spotted, and deeply 3-lobed, with a base marked by two conspicuous ridges. The spur is longer than the labellum and as long as the ovary.
