Ophiopogon chingii is a small, evergreen perennial that grows from short rhizomes and forms tufts of leaves. It produces flowers in racemes on short stems above the foliage. Native to Japan, it features curly green leaves and neon blue berries in summer.

Description

Ophiopogon chingii, described by F.T. Wang and Tang in 1937, belongs to the Asparagaceae family. It is a ground-covering, evergreen perennial that spreads via short rhizomes. The plant forms dense tufts of leaves, with racemes of flowers emerging on short stems above the foliage. Its foliage is characterized by curly green leaves, and it produces neon blue berries during the summer months. It is native to Japan.
