Ophioglossum namegatae is a fern species in the family Ophioglossaceae, native to Japan. It was first described in 1969 by Nish. & Kurita.

Description

Ophioglossum namegatae belongs to the genus Ophioglossum and is part of the Ophioglossaceae family, a group of ferns commonly known as adder's-tongue ferns. This species is endemic to Japan. It was formally published in 1969 by the botanists Nish. & Kurita. As a member of the Ophioglossaceae, it shares characteristics typical of the family, including a unique frond structure with a sterile and fertile portion. Its distribution is limited to the Japanese archipelago.
