Nothofagus alessandrii, known as ruil, is a species in the Nothofagaceae family. It is endemic to Chile and primarily found in the Chilean matorral ecoregion. The species is threatened by habitat loss and is protected in the Los Ruiles National Reserve.

Nothofagus alessandrii, described by Espinosa in 1926, is part of the Nothofagus genus within the Nothofagaceae family. It is native to central Chile and is confined to the Chilean matorral ecoregion. Due to habitat loss, the species is at risk and conservation efforts include its protection within the Los Ruiles National Reserve.
