Spiranthes lacera, known as Northern Slender Ladies'-Tresses, is a North American orchid species with a wide distribution across the eastern United States and parts of Canada. It is characterized by a spiral arrangement of white flowers and is found in both natural and disturbed open habitats. The species was first described in 1833.

Description

Spiranthes lacera is a member of the Orchidaceae family and is native to regions including Vermont, Alabama, Arkansas, and others. It is commonly found in open, often disturbed environments and blooms in the summer with a distinctive spiral of white flowers. The species has been documented in botanical collections, including a voucher specimen from Honduras collected by C. H. Nelson and E. Vargas.
