Dacrydium cupressinum, commonly known as New Zealand red pine, is an evergreen conifer in the Podocarpaceae family. It is native to New Zealand and can grow up to 60 metres tall with a trunk diameter of 2 m. The species is dioecious, with individual trees being either male or female. It is the most common native conifer in New Zealand, found on the North, South, and Stewart Islands. The tree can live for 600–800 years, with some individuals reaching 1,200 years.

The species has an estimated lifespan of 600–800 years, with some individuals living as long as 1,200 years. Dacrydium cupressinum was first described in 1786.
