Packera schweinitziana is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family, native to eastern North America. It is found in eastern Canada and the northeastern U.S., with isolated populations in North Carolina and Tennessee. The species thrives in sunny, wet areas, often in acidic soils, and in the southeastern U.S., it is restricted to Appalachian balds.

Description

Packera schweinitziana, known as New England Ragwort, is a member of the Asteraceae family. It is native to regions including New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, and parts of the U.S. and Canada. The plant is typically found in sunny, wet habitats with acidic soils. In the southeastern U.S., it is limited to Appalachian balds. The species was first described in 1981.
