Austrotaxus spicata, the New Caledonia Yew, is the only species in the genus Austrotaxus and belongs to the Taxaceae family. It is native to New Caledonia and was first described in 1922 by Compton. This species is closely related to other yew genera, such as Taxus and Pseudotaxus.
