Nepenthes kerrii is a tropical pitcher plant native to southern Thailand, specifically found in Tarutao National Marine Park. It grows at elevations between 400 and 500 meters above sea level. The species is also reported to occur on Langkawi Island in Malaysia, with the 2018 IUCN assessment considering these populations conspecific. The plant is closely related to N. kongkandana. The species name honors Arthur Francis George Kerr, an Irish medical doctor who first collected this species for herbarium use.

Description

Nepenthes kerrii belongs to the family Nepenthaceae and is part of the genus Nepenthes, which includes various carnivorous pitcher plants. It was formally described in 2010 by M.Catal. & Kruetr. The species is geographically limited to parts of southern Asia, with primary distribution in Thailand and a possible extension to Malaysia. Its name commemorates Arthur Francis George Kerr for his early contribution to documenting the species through herbarium collections.
