Nepenthes halmahera is a tropical pitcher plant species in the family Nepenthaceae, native to the island of Halmahera in North Maluku, Indonesia. It was first described in 2015 and was initially found within the Weda Bay Nickel Project area, growing in open habitats on ultramafic substrates at elevations between 10 and 760 metres. The species was once mistaken for an aberrant form of N. danseri but is now recognized as distinct.

Description

Nepenthes halmahera is a member of the genus Nepenthes, known for its carnivorous pitcher plants. It is found in the Global region, specifically in the Maluku area. The species was first published in 2015 and is associated with ultramafic soils in open habitats. Initially thought to have a limited range, the 2018 IUCN assessment indicated that it is common in the Weda Bay area. The plant was previously considered to be a variant of N. danseri but is now established as a separate species.
