Nepenthes chang is a tropical pitcher plant found exclusively in the Banthad Mountains of eastern Thailand, growing at elevations between 300 and 600 meters above sea level. It is part of the Nepenthaceae family and is considered closely related to N. kampotiana.

Description

Nepenthes chang belongs to the genus Nepenthes and is native to southern Asia, specifically Thailand. It was formally described in 2010 by M.Catal. This species is limited to the Banthad Mountains in eastern Thailand, where it thrives at elevations ranging from 300 to 600 meters. Phylogenetic studies suggest a close relationship between N. chang and N. kampotiana. As a member of the Nepenthaceae family, it shares characteristics typical of tropical pitcher plants, including specialized insect-trapping structures.
