Lilium nepalense, known as the Nepal lily, is a member of the Liliaceae family. It is native to the Himalayas and surrounding areas, including northern Thailand, northern Myanmar, Assam, Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal, Uttarakhand, Tibet, and Yunnan. This species grows on the edges of wet forests at elevations between 1,200 and 3,000 meters.

Description

The plant typically grows in wet forest margins at altitudes ranging from 1,200 to 3,000 meters. First described in 1821 by D.Don, this species is part of the genus Lilium and is commonly referred to as the Nepal lily.
