Nemesia linearis is a southern African plant species native to the Cape Provinces, Free State, and Namibia. It was first described by Etienne-Pierre Ventenat in 1804 and belongs to the family Scrophulariaceae. The species is also known as witleeubekkie in Afrikaans.

Description

Nemesia linearis, described by Etienne-Pierre Ventenat in 1804, is a plant species native to southern Africa. It occurs in the Cape Provinces, Free State, and Namibia. The species is part of the genus Nemesia within the family Scrophulariaceae. The name is associated with Ventenat’s botanical work, though no specimen has been located at G, and the only known specimen in P-JU is designated as the lectotype. The species is known locally in Afrikaans as witleeubekkie.
