Calypogeia neesiana, known as Nees' pouchwort, is a species in the genus Calypogeia, family Calypogeiaceae. It was first described in 1906 by (C.Massal. & Carestia) Müll.Frib. This moss is found in various regions including Labrador, Québec, and several islands in the Azores such as Flores, Pico, São Jorge, São Miguel, and Terceira. It is also present in TW, SE, Vermont-US, and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Description
Calypogeia neesiana is a member of the Calypogeiaceae family and is native to multiple locations in North America and the Azores. Its distribution spans from Labrador and Québec in Canada to the U.S. states of Vermont and other areas. The species is also found in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and various islands in the Azores archipelago. Named after Nees, the species was formally published in 1906 by (C.Massal. & Carestia) Müll.Frib.
