Myricaria germanica, known as the German tamarisk, is a flowering plant in the Tamaricaceae family. It is native to continental Europe, the Black Sea region, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. This upright shrub grows to a maximum height of 2.4 m and is commonly found on riverbanks in mountainous areas. It has been cultivated in Great Britain since 1582.
