Description
Murdannia loriformis is a plant species within the Commelinaceae family, commonly known as the spiderwort family. It is distributed across several regions in Asia, including TW, Assam, Bangladesh, South-Central and Southeast China, Hainan, India, Japan, Jawa, Nansei-shoto, New Guinea, Ogasawara-shoto, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet, and Vietnam. The species was first described in 1962 by R.S.Rao and Kammathy, based on earlier work by Hasskarl. This species is part of the Murdannia genus, which is known for its herbaceous plants typically found in tropical and subtropical climates.
