Hypoxis obtusa is a plant species in the family Hypoxidaceae. It is commonly known as Mr Burchell’s hypoxis. The species was first described in 1816 by Burch. ex Ker Gawl. It is native to several regions in Africa, including Angola, Botswana, Cape Provinces, Free State, Kenya, KwaZulu-Natal, Lesotho, Namibia, Northern Provinces, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe.

Description

Hypoxis obtusa is a member of the Hypoxidaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly referred to as the hypoxis family. It is found across various parts of sub-Saharan Africa, including Angola, Botswana, Cape Provinces, Free State, Kenya, KwaZulu-Natal, Lesotho, Namibia, Northern Provinces, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe. The species was formally described in 1816 by Burch. ex Ker Gawl. It is known by the common name Mr Burchell’s hypoxis. The plant is part of the genus Hypoxis, which includes several species with similar morphological features.
