Clethra acuminata, known as mountain sweet pepperbush, is a shrub native to the Appalachian Mountains in the southeastern United States. It is found in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee, typically in deciduous forests at elevations between 500 and 1,400 meters.

Description

Clethra acuminata is a member of the Clethraceae family and is part of the Clethra genus. It is distributed across several U.S. states in the southeastern region, growing in deciduous forest habitats. The species was first described in 1803 by Michx. and is commonly referred to as mountain sweet pepperbush in English.
