Cypripedium montanum, known as Mountain Lady's Slipper, is a species in the Orchidaceae family. It is found in regions including Alberta, British Columbia, and parts of the United States such as California, Montana, and Washington. The species was first described in 1840 by Lindl., based on work by Douglas. It is also referred to as large lady's slipper, white lady's slipper, and moccasin flower.

Description

Cypripedium montanum is a member of the orchid genus Cypripedium. Its common names include Mountain Lady's Slipper, large lady's slipper, white lady's slipper, and moccasin flower. The plant is distributed across several regions in North America, including Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and U.S. states such as California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. The species was published in 1840 by Lindl., following initial work by Douglas. It belongs to the Orchidaceae family, one of the largest families of flowering plants.
