Moringa drouhardii, known as the bottle tree or maroseranana, is a species native to southwest Madagascar. It is found in the Madagascar spiny thickets ecoregion, particularly at limestone cliffs near Lake Tsimanampetsotsa on the Mahafaly Plateau. The tree is commonly planted in villages and around traditional tombs.

Description

Moringa drouhardii belongs to the Moringaceae family and is endemic to southwest Madagascar. It is typically found in the spiny thickets ecoregion, especially at limestone cliffs east of Lake Tsimanampetsotsa on the Mahafaly Plateau. The species is often cultivated in local villages and near traditional tombs. Despite the potential utility of its seeds and leaves, they are not traditionally used in the Atsimo-Andrefana Region.
