Description
Monstera siltepecana is a terrestrial to climbing plant in the Araceae family, found in Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and parts of Mexico. Juvenile plants have ovate, unequal leaves with membranaceous texture, while adult stems are subterete with smooth surfaces. The leaves are subcoriaceous, ovate, and often falcate, with 30–60 cm long lamina and numerous leaf perforations. The petiole is 30–45 cm long, with deciduous wings. The inflorescence includes a green, terete peduncle and a thick, coriaceous spathe. The spadix is cylindrical, with sterile flowers at the base and fertile pistils above. This species is distinguished by its rapid growth and silver venation in immature foliage.
