Monotagma secundum is a species in the Marantaceae family, native to several regions in South America. It is found in Brazil's Northeast and North regions, as well as in Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela. The species is documented in the Amazonas, Caquetá, Putumayo, and Vaupés departments, particularly within the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete (PNNSCh). It was first described in 1902 by K.Schum.

Description

Monotagma secundum belongs to the Marantaceae family and is distributed across several South American countries. Its range includes Brazil's Northeast and North regions, as well as Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela. Within Colombia, it is recorded in the Amazonas, Caquetá, Putumayo, and Vaupés departments, with specific occurrences noted in the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete (PNNSCh). The species was first described in 1902 by K.Schum.
