Monococcus echinophorus is a species in the genus Monococcus, which is part of the family Petiveriaceae. It is native to New Caledonia, New South Wales, Queensland, and Vanuatu. The species was first described in 1858 by F.Muell.

Monococcus echinophorus is the sole species within the genus Monococcus, a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the family Petiveriaceae. It is found in the regions of New Caledonia, New South Wales, Queensland, and Vanuatu. The species was formally described in 1858 by Ferdinand von Mueller, an Australian botanist.
