Canavalia molokaiensis is a flowering plant in the Fabaceae family, native to the island of Molokaʻi in Hawaii. Commonly known as Molokai Jack-bean or puakauhi, it is one of the Hawaiian Canavalia species referred to locally as ʻāwikiwiki. The species was first described in 1962 by O.Deg., I.Deg., and J.D.Sauer.

Description

Canavalia molokaiensis is a rare legume species found only on the island of Molokaʻi in Hawaii. It is part of the genus Canavalia within the Fabaceae family. This plant is known by the common names Molokai Jack-bean and puakauhi, and it is one of several Hawaiian Canavalia species collectively called ʻāwikiwiki. The species was formally described in 1962 by botanists O.Deg., I.Deg., and J.D.Sauer.
