Misodendrum punctulatum is a parasitic plant native to southern South America, primarily growing as a mistletoe on species of Nothofagus. It is commonly found on deciduous species such as N. antarctica and N. pumilio, as well as on evergreen species like N. dombeyi and N. betuloides. This species is typically found in humid forests, often on south-facing slopes and in shaded areas.

Description

Misodendrum punctulatum belongs to the family Misodendraceae and was first described in 1830 by Banks ex DC. It is a parasitic plant that forms a mistletoe on various Nothofagus tree species. Its distribution is limited to the southern regions of South America, where it thrives in humid forest environments. It is commonly found on both deciduous and evergreen Nothofagus species, with a preference for shaded and south-facing locations.
