Description

Linnaeus originally described Minuartia montana in 1753. The species is part of the Caryophyllaceae family and is found in a range of regions from North Africa to the Middle East and parts of Europe. McNeill, in a 1963 publication, discussed the type specimens but did not distinguish between certain sheets, which are not part of a single gathering. Lopez Gonzalez later provided a detailed analysis of the materials and descriptions related to Minuartia and Queria by Linnaeus, offering clarification on the taxonomic treatment of the species.
