Camissoniopsis micrantha is a small annual herb in the Onagraceae family, known as miniature suncup. It features a basal rosette of leaves and small yellow flowers with petals under 5 mm long, which turn reddish when closed. It is native to Arizona and California in the U.S., as well as Baja California in Mexico, and thrives in sandy habitats including beaches and slopes. It is the smallest species in the genus Camissoniopsis.

Description

Camissoniopsis micrantha, a member of the evening primrose family (Onagraceae), is a small, hairy annual herb. It forms a basal rosette of leaves and produces small yellow flowers with petals less than 5 mm long. The flowers dry to a reddish color as they close. This species is native to Arizona and California in the United States and Baja California in Mexico. It is typically found in sandy environments, including beaches and inland slopes. It is the smallest species within the genus Camissoniopsis.
