This species is native to several regions in South America, including Brazil (Northeast, Southeast, and West-Central), as well as Bolivia and Paraguay.

Description

Microstachys serrulata is a member of the Euphorbiaceae family, commonly known as the spurge family. The species was formally published in 1863 by the botanist Müll.Arg., who revised the earlier classification by Mart. & Zucc.
