Microstachys marginata is a species in the Euphorbiaceae family, native to Brazil, specifically the Northeast and Southeast regions. It was first described in 1863 by Klotzsch ex Müll.Arg., based on earlier work by Mart. & Zucc.

Microstachys marginata belongs to the genus Microstachys within the Euphorbiaceae, or spurge family. This species is distributed across the Northeast and Southeast regions of Brazil. The taxonomic name was established in 1863 by Müll.Arg., building upon the original description by Mart. & Zucc.
